Zsombor Orbán is a Partner and Head of the Digital & Technology Group at PROVARIS Varga & Partners. He advises clients on complex technology, data governance, privacy, data protection, cybersecurity and artificial intelligence matters, with a particular focus on the legal architecture of digital transformation projects and emerging technologies.

His practice covers AI governance, data governance, GDPR and privacy compliance, cybersecurity, technology transactions, digital identity, cloud services, software licensing, cyber incident response and technology-related disputes. He regularly advises clients operating in highly regulated sectors, including financial services, life sciences, critical infrastructure and the public sector.

Zsombor has extensive experience in large-scale digital transformation and data governance projects. Recent work includes advising on a national environmental data repository, AI-enabled consumer products, digital identity and trust service implementations, technology compliance frameworks and cybersecurity programmes under the NIS2 Directive and the Digital Operational Resilience Act (DORA).

Zsombor is recognised for his ability to combine legal, regulatory, technological and strategic considerations in complex projects involving digital infrastructure, data ecosystems, cyber resilience and artificial intelligence. He also serves as an appointed Data Protection Officer (DPO) for several companies.

Prior to joining PROVARIS, Zsombor spent more than a decade as Head of the TMT practice at an international law firm and later as a Technology Partner at a Big Four organisation, where he advised multinational clients on technology, privacy, cybersecurity and regulatory matters across a wide range of industries. Earlier in his career, he worked in-house as a trademark and intellectual property specialist at an international FMCG company.
