Tim Van Canneyt works in the Technology Law Group at Fieldfisher,
where he advises clients on both contractual and litigation aspects
of information technology, data protection and e-commerce.
He has significant experience in the field of privacy, data
protection and data security, where he advises clients on their
privacy compliance issues, such as consent issues, international
data transfers, accurate privacy policies and notifications with
the data protection authorities. He has a particular interest in
privacy challenges caused by digital technologies and services
(RFID, cookies, cloud computing etc.).
Another important part of this practice includes drafting and
negotiating complex IT service agreements, and advising on legal
aspects relating to system integration, maintenance, licensing and
