Nuria Pastor is a dually qualified English Solicitor and Spanish Abogada. She is a data protection specialist. Before joining the firm in July 2007, Nuria spent several years working in the IT law department of Landwell-PwC in Barcelona.

Nuria has relevant experience in advising in a range of both national (UK and Spain) and international privacy related matters. They include international transfers, data security, compliance with anti-spam laws across various EU member states, processing of employee data, including the roll out of whistleblowing schemes, pan-European data protection registrations, assessment of role of data controller and data processors, roll out of data protection training schemes. She has also been involved in advising clients in the context of enforcement actions by the Spanish Data Protection Regulator and the UK Data Protection Regulator. Nuria was seconded part-time for one year at a leading global education service provider where she acted as an interim Data Protection Officer. Her role involved the undertaking of a data protection audit across the organisation.

Nuria has experience in the energy and natural resources, hotels & leisure, media & entertainment, retail, public sector and travel & tourism sectors.

Nuria was a member of the Board of Directors of the APEP (the Spanish Association of Privacy Professionals) for a year (2012-2013) and is a member of the IAPP and CiPP/E certified. Nuria has spoken at a number of events and written for specialist privacy publications, including our Privacy & Information Law blog. Nuria is co-author of European Privacy, Law and Practice for Data Protection Professionals, an IAPP Publication. She assisted in the editing of Data Protection Laws of the Word (Sweet & Maxwell) between 2008 and 2009.
