Intellectual property issues

Intellectual Property Rights (IPRs) are at the heart of what many of our clients do and we recognise that they are a significant resource for all of the organisations with which we work. IPRs can be a valuable means to protect revenue as well as being a potential source of income; they can be an effective way of developing and growing a business and often open new markets and accelerate growth.

Our lawyers act as business advisers and regularly work with clients to ensure that they are able to exploit and protect their IPRs. We have helped many businesses in a variety of sectors, from retail, telecoms, hotels and leisure to sport, life sciences and media and entertainment companies with all manner of transactional and strategic advice relating to intellectual property. Members of the Ecomlex network are able to assist in matters ranging from the consolidation of IPR portfolios, to the enforcement of IP rights through litigation. In particular, our members have multi-jurisdictional experience in areas such as the creation and management of global anti-counterfeiting programmes; the registration, monitoring and enforcement of domain names; franchising and licensing; promotions, marketing and sponsorship; the clearance, prosecution, renewal and litigation of trade marks; and online infringement.
