This Cookie Notice explains what these technologies are and why we use them, as well as your rights to control our use of them.

What are cookies?

Cookies are text files containing small amounts of information which are downloaded to your computer or mobile device when you visit a website. Cookies are then sent back to the originating website on each subsequent visit, or to another website that recognises that cookie. Cookies are useful because they allow a website to recognise a user’s device. Cookies do lots of different jobs, like letting you navigate between pages efficiently, remembering your preferences, and generally improving the user experience.

What cookies do we use and why?

We use Google Analytics cookies. These cookies are used to collect information about how visitors use our Website. We use the information to compile reports and to help us improve our Website. The cookies collect information in an anonymous form, including the number of visitors to the Website, where visitors have come to the Website from and the pages they visited.

Information collected by the Google Analytics cookies will be transmitted to and stored by Google on servers in the United States of America in accordance with its privacy practices. To see an overview of privacy at Google and how this applies to Google Analytics, please click here.

How long do cookies last for?

The cookies we use on our Website are ‘persistent cookies’, which survive after your browser has closed until a defined expiration date. They can be used to recognise your computer when you open your browser and browse the Internet again. The _utmz cookie lasts for 6 months. The _utmv and _utma cookies last for 2 years. If you visit our Website again before the cookies expire then they will be renewed.

How can I control cookies?

You may opt out of tracking by Google Analytics by clicking here. The ability to enable, disable or delete cookies can also be completed at browser level. In order to do this follow the instructions provided by your browser (usually located within the “Help”, “Tools” or “Edit” facility).  Disabling a cookie or category of cookie does not delete the cookie from your browser; you will need to do this yourself from within your browser.

If you have disabled one or more Analytics Cookies, we may still use information collected from cookies prior to your disabled preference being set, however, we will stop using the disabled cookie to collect any further information.

How often will you update this Cookie Notice?

We may update this Cookie Notice from time to time in order to reflect, for example, changes to the cookies we use or for other operational, legal or regulatory reasons.  Please therefore re-visit this Cookie Notice regularly to stay informed about our use of cookies and related technologies.

The date at the top of this Cookie Notice indicates when it was last updated.

Where can I get further information?

If you have any questions about our use of cookies, please email us at dataprotection@fieldfisher.com.
